Day 1: Cardiff – Welcome to Wales!
The journey begins in the vibrant city of Cardiff. After settling into the hotel, there’s time to rest before meeting the tour leader and fellow travellers for a welcome briefing. Get acquainted with the group over dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Cardiff & South Wales History
Today begins at the Royal Mint Experience to explore coin-making. Next, experience the Rhondda Heritage Coal Mining Experience, with a guided tour and traditional Welsh lunch. Afterwards, take a scenic route via Cardiff Bay, with a visit to the Senedd. There is free time to visit Cardiff Castle (ticket included). The evening is free to enjoy Cardiff at leisure.
Day 3: Traditional Love Spoons & Spectacular Cathedral
Depart for Pembrokeshire to visit a traditional Lovespoon workshop. Following this, travel to Tenby for lunch. Conclude the day with a visit to the historic city of St. Davids, home to its iconic cathedral. The evening is at leisure in St. David’s.
Day 4: Coastal Road & Steam Train Adventure
Begin by travelling along the scenic coastal route to Aberaeron. There will be ample time to wander the harbour area. Afterward, embark on the Vale of Rheidol Steam Train.
Day 5: A Journey Through Timeless Beauty: Portmeirion & Snowdonia
Visit the enchanting village of Portmeirion. Then journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Stop in Betws-y-Coed, the “Gateway to Snowdonia”. Continue to Llandudno for the evening at leisure.
Day 6: Anglesey, Castles & Coastal Charms: A Taste of North Wales
Travel to Anglesey. The first stop is Llanfair PG for a photo at the iconic railway station. Next, visit Halen Môn Sea Salt for the 11 AM public tour. Head to Caernarfon for a traditional pub lunch. In the afternoon, return to Llandudno to visit the Penderyn Whisky Distillery for the 4PM public tour (or alternative options). The evening is free to enjoy at leisure.
Day 7: Stunning Gardens & Conwy Castle
Spend the morning at Bodnant Garden. Head to Conwy, where you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. After lunch, visit Conwy Castle (UNESCO World Heritage Site). In the afternoon, there is more free time to explore Llandudno at your leisure. The evening concludes with a final farewell meal at a local restaurant.
Day 8: Hwyl Fawr i Gymru
Depart the Wales in a Week tour. A complimentary transfer to Chester, Liverpool or Manchester is offered.
