About this Attraction

Alpaca My Boots is located at Blaenrheon Farm. Traditionally farmed by Nick Bishop and his family for two decades, the farm is nestled in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, neighbouring Mynydd Illtyd Common and just three miles from the market town of Brecon. They’re only a mile from the National Park visitor centre, which offers the chance to learn more about the local area while tucking into a tasty selection of food and drinks.

With incredible views of the surrounding countryside, hills and mountains, the location is a popular tourist destination for anyone who enjoys beautiful scenery and the great outdoors. It’s also an area of historic significance: Mynydd Illtyd has evidence of Bronze Age Activity and the remnants of an Iron Age hill fort that dates back 4,000 years.

All this makes Blaenrheon Farm an ideal spot to start your adventure in the Brecon Beacons. On one of their treks, you’ll see the very best this part of Wales has to offer in the close company of its most loveable local residents: their alpacas!

Standard Ticket

When you arrive at the farm, it won’t take you long to spot their herd of affable alpacas roaming freely in the field. They love making new friends, and will often trot over to say hello when they see you!

Before you set off on your alpaca experience, they’ll talk you through the basics of alpaca handling and share some interesting insights into the history of these wonderful animals. You’ll then be matched with your very own alpaca buddy, who’ll accompany you across the fields and hills on their scenic trek.

As you begin your adventure, you’ll get a glimpse into the life of a working farm. From muddy tractors to fields of sheep and cows, kids and adults alike love spotting the day-to-day goings on of their traditional Welsh hill farm.

The countryside views continue as you cross the fields and hills, eventually reaching a trig point with epic 360° views of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Depending on the weather, you may be lucky enough to see famous mountains like Pen Y Fan, Corn Du and Sugar Loaf.

This is an ideal spot for photos – alpacas aren’t camera shy, so be sure to take lots of selfies with them and tag us on Instagram!

At the end of your tour:
All good things must come to an end! You’ll head back to the farm and you’ll have the chance to reward your loyal alpaca with some tasty food before saying goodbye.
Be sure to pick up a souvenir from their shop before you head off – from fun t-shirts to premium alpaca wool products, they’ve got lots to choose from.
If you’re looking for somewhere else to visit while you’re in the area, they always recommend the Brecon Beacons National Park visitor centre. It’s only a mile from their farm and is a great place to unwind with food and drink while learning about the many activities and other things to do in the Brecon Beacons.
