Stratford-upon-Avon is on the must-see list for most visitors to England, the birthplace of the world-famous playwright William Shakespeare. They will lead you on a Cradle to Grave walking tour from Shakespeare’s birthplace, to his school, his family homes, places of inspiration, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and finally to his grave in a pleasant church on the banks of the River Avon.

For the adventurous and our families one of their favourite things to do in Stratford is hire a rowing boat before heading to the church and rowing up the majestic River to Shakespeare’s church and to get out there! Before heading to Warwick Castle they will pop into the town of Warwick and stop for lunch in the historic town. Head into the dungeons for some of the darkest, bloodiest and most frightening times in the Castle’s history.
To finish the day you’ll branch back to the Cotswolds via idyllic villages like Ebrington and Blockley, or perhaps finish with a garden visit to Kiftsgate Gardens or afternoon tea in Chipping Campden.
