Historic Environment Scotland is the lead public body set up to investigate, care for and promote Scotland’s historic environment.
From brochs, castles and palaces to abbeys, towers and tombs there are over 5000 years’ worth of history for you to enjoy.
Entrance Fees To Stirling Castle
A great way to discover the people and events which have shapes its past – and Scotland’s history. Their friendly guides enjoy sharing stories and fascinating facts with visitors, as well as answering questions.
Guided tours are included in the ticket price and take place every half hour between 10am and 4pm, starting at the well outside the Fort Major’s House.
Audio guides
You’ll need to bring your own fully charged mobile phone or tablet with internet to access the guide through a web browser like Google Chrome or Safari and bring headphones. You’ll receive an email before you arrive showing you how to load it.
Audio guides are available in English (audio description available), Gaelic, French, German and Spanish. Large print also available.

Family Trail
Enjoy a fun family trail at the castle in the Unicorn’s Garden.
Sally the palace servant loves horses and runs outside whenever she hears hooves on the cobbles. Join her to meet the horses, ponies and unicorns from Stirling’s history and legends.
We recommend you allow at least 2 hours to see all the castle highlights and to get the most out of your visit.

Closing times for independent museums vary. The Regimental Museum closes 45 minutes before the castle.
