The Chocolatarium was created to bring the magic of chocolate to the people of Edinburgh and to all who come to visit. We believe chocolate isn’t just something to eat, but something to explore and to create, to love and to remember.
The Chocolatarium was born in 2019, when their founder set out to bring something new and exciting to Edinburgh. Inspired by time living in Ecuador and travelling through South America – by the people she met, the flavours she discovered, and the experience of seeing cacao growing in the rainforest – along with family ties to cacao farmers in Ecuador, the idea grew to share the magic of chocolate in her home city. What began as a second business soon became a place where visitors could not only taste and make chocolate, but also understand its story from the rainforests to the finished bar.

A chocolate tour experience taking you from chocolate tree to chocolate bar with lots of chocolate tasting on the way! You’ll learn new things about chocolate, make your very own bar and taste chocolate you have never tasted before.
Come to the tasting room with our wonderful selection of chocolates from both Scottish and international chocolate makers. There are over 30 varieties to choose from including dark chocolate, milk chocolate, haggis chocolate, Japanese chocolate, chili chocolate, gin & tonic chocolate and many, many more.
