The Chocolatarium was created to bring the magic of chocolate to the people of Edinburgh and to all who come to visit. We believe chocolate isn’t just something to eat, but something to explore and to create, to love and to remember.
The Chocolatarium was born in 2019, when their founder set out to bring something new and exciting to Edinburgh. Inspired by time living in Ecuador and travelling through South America – by the people she met, the flavours she discovered, and the experience of seeing cacao growing in the rainforest – along with family ties to cacao farmers in Ecuador, the idea grew to share the magic of chocolate in her home city. What began as a second business soon became a place where visitors could not only taste and make chocolate, but also understand its story from the rainforests to the finished bar.

Discover a wide variety of techniques for making beautiful and delicious chocolate truffles, have fun making a generous assortment of your very own treats to take away and end your experience with a relaxing guided truffle tasting!
Most visitors to The Chocolatarium are adults, and the truffle-making experience is especially recommended for chocolate lovers aged 10+.
