HALKIDIKI – the 2025 location for #theASAway workshop weekend away. A whirlwind 48 hours of bonding, networking, teambuilding, relaxation (?!), eating & drinking, private beaches, stunning scenery and ancient culture WOW! Our trip last weekend was our largest ever and probably the most complicated logistically with so many flying in from all over the world and having to set up the remote office on-site to keep on delivering excellence to our partners.
This is our one time of the year we are complete. Face to face. Off “site”. Meeting new starters for the first time in some cases. Sharing meals, stories, laughter, a few tears reminiscing the earlier years, but always building relationships old and new. Being….a family, the ASA family.
Over the past few years we’ve grown and like many others a large proportion of our team are now employees from the post-Covid era. The ASA culture runs in the veins of the “old guard” but it’s the newer members that absorb and build on that culture. Many of them we hope going on to become the “new oldies”.
This weekend we took the opportunity to launch the ASA AWARDS with “Rising Star” categories for those with us from 6 months to 2 years, an ASA Star Award for 2 years+ but less than 5 years (5 years+ is when the loyalty pool profit share benefit starts for those established employees), and a CEO Choice Award. All were about recognition of shared values, identifying as part of the the ASA culture and personal achievements.
We are delighted to announce our RISING STAR AWARD Winners 2025 to you:
NATALIA – a fully remote, Brazil based, member of the Tailormade team, who after working in the London office decided to relocate back home but still wanted to remain part of ASA. She has shown that if you really want to make it work then you can do it!
JEFFIN – the ever-smiling, hard-working, early-starting member of the Finance department and a firm favourite amongst his peers. Nothing phases him and he takes everything in his stride, teaching some of the seniors some new skills along the way!
YAN (on the right!) – moved to London and quickly learned the ropes in our Groups Department. He’s now single handily managing the ops for some of our biggest group accounts. Enthusiastic, with a “unique” sense of humour, but always the first to offer assistance to anyone from any department, he really is a rising star in every sense. He made his “work mum” so proud she cried!
AMELIA – a student placement, now continuing with us while she finishes her course, quietly set herself a target and smashed a million in revenue in just 7 months in our FIT department and is still going!!! ASA loves a student, we’ve a fair few at senior levels now, and we are delighted to have Amelia on-board with us in our London office.
Our ASA STAR AWARD winner 2025 is:
ROSIE – based in our Edinburgh office, has quickly risen and established herself as a reliable, accountable team-player, helping supporting the management of the Tailormade team north of the border. A stickler for the finer details in all her work and an excellent trainer of new starters, Rosie embodies the very ethos of ASA itself. A truly deserving winner of this star accolade!
The CEO CHOICE AWARD winner 2025 went to:
MARIA – after joining us by a recommendation from an existing ASA member as “someone that would fit the ASA vibe”. Maria adapted her previous negotiating skills, completely switching industries and is now establishing herself as a well known and respected figure amongst the Travel Trade in ASA’s Procurement Team in London.
